NHM condemns Vereeniging foreigners’ march to SAPS

What is (also) disturbing is that an ANC member was seen in his regalia hoisting a flag to support this illegal march by the foreign nationals.

VEREENIGING. –  One of the smallest and upcoming parties in the region, the New Horizon Movement has condemned the march by foreign nationals to the regional offices of the South African Police Services (SAPS) in Vereeniging last week.

Although the protest started as a cleaning campaign it ended with the foreign nationals marching to the SAPS offices demanding the removal of the alleged corrupt police that are ‘terrorising’ them on a regular basis, and stealing their money.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, NHM Secretary General, Ernest Nkopane said that his party challenges the Home Affairs Department, the Municipal By-Laws Unit, the Police and the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) to be open to the community about reasons why they are not acting firm in applying the laws of this country, without fear of being victimised by syndicates that are operating with the foreign nationals.

“As active citizens and activist we call for a non-political united front within the Sedibeng community in every corner to demonstrate our frustrations towards such behavior as displayed by the foreign nationals and we further support the idea to boycott buying from all foreign owned shops, to close all spaza shops in our townships and work together with the law enforcement agencies in order to restore the dignity and compliance of our national key points.”

Nkopane said that this call is not based on Xenophobia or discrimination, but that it is based on protecting South Africa’s Heritage and  economy against any form of dispossession by illegal foreigners who continue to break the laws of South Africa knowingly, while citizens are turning a blind eye (to the situation).

“The Community of Sedibeng is tired of expired food, and we must implement the Gauteng Economic Bill without fear or favor, the time has come to reclaim local business(ess) back to where it belongs, to South Africans.”

# Together with other smaller parties, the NHM forms a coalition with the ANC at the Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM).
