Midvaal Local Municipality offers relief to flood stricken areas

MIDVAAL. –  Midvaal Local Municipality (MLM) says it is aware of the flooding that took place in Henley on Klip and several areas within the municipality following recent heavy rains.

In a statement, the municipality stated that it has since dispatched teams to first clear out storm water channels as more rain is expected in the coming week.

“Once this is completed, help and resources will be made available to assist residents affected by the floods.

“We call on residents to avoid crossing water-filled bridges and avoid travelling in dangerously flooded areas.”

The municipality asks for patience after experiencing localised flooding in several areas.

“We are working to resolve this and to quickly assist those affected.”

MLM urges residents to specify the street address they are calling from so that teams can be directly dispatched to the correct location.
