Miss Earth South Africa recently gave back to the community by planting fruit trees.

LAKESIDE. – 23 -year-old Miss Earth South Africa, Ziphozethu Sithebe recently planted about five fruit trees at Mopholisi Secondary School in Lakeside.

Following her charitable deed, Sithebe urged learners to take proper care of the plants. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, Sithebe said: “I’m here today to plant these trees. I believe that food is life and I know that the learners at the school will ensure that these trees are allowed to grow and become meaningful to them.”

Sithebe urged the learners to take care of the trees, as they will in future take care of them: “These trees are liable to contribute very much to your future and the next generation. You must take care of them.”

A former pupil at the school, Mandla Radebe from the Mandla Radebe foundation said he hopes that the school will take care of the peach trees.

School head girl, Khotsofalo Mohapi (16) in Grade 10 promises that in her last two years of schooling, she is determined to protect the trees and make sure that the next generation is equipped to benefit from the fruit trees as much as they have benefited from the previous generation by fighting for freedom.
