“Stop killing and abusing women”: GBV groups

“Standing together we can end Gender Based Violence, enough is enough."

SASOLBURG. –  Sasolburg’s Luwizi Mulambo, the Free State Provincial Spokesperson of Gender Based Violence (GBV) and Femicide in Free State Province was one of the delegates that answered Presidents Cyril Ramphosa’s call and attended the Presidential Summit on Gender Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF) at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand on November 1 and 2.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, Mulambo said that he is ready to fight Gender Based Violence and that men must stop abusing and killing women.

“Real men love and protect women. We must stop being against Gender Based Violence only in theory,” he said.

Mulambo further said that the victims of GBV must be supported and that his office and other organisations are making a call for the community, men in particular, to do away with abuse and for women to walk away from abusive relationships.

“Standing together we can end Gender Based Violence, enough is enough, we must say no to GBV, we must allow women to live, be free from our control. They must also be allowed to dress how they want without being abused.”

Mulamobo concluded by saying that the fight against GBVF is a 365 days mission (all year around) mission for which society and government must take action to make communities safer.
