SEDIBENG.- The tournament will see all Gauteng regions boxing clubs competing against each other throughout the day.
This was revealed to Sedibeng Ster Sport by Bongani Mahlangu who also said that all the Gauteng amateur boxing clubs will be here in Sedibeng and that this Gauteng Development Tournament is part of reviving boxing in the community. For a few months now Sedibeng Ster Sport has been following the development of boxing in Sedibeng with boxing tournaments held every weekend.
This is an idication that, boxing is back in the community as in the past Sedibeng (formerly Vaal Triangle) used to produce household names when it comes to boxing since the days of the great Carlton ‘Swing Carlie’ Monnakgotla, Shamba Mthimkhulu, Shole ‘Tiger Floor’ Mokoena, Baby Lux Khambule, Aaron ‘AK 47’ Kabi and Lehloholo Potsane to mention but few.
