BOIPATONG.- Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Bongani Mahlangu said that all the Sedibeng boxing clubs are invited to be part of this tournament. He told Sedibeng Ster Sport that the number of Sedibeng boxers who participate in the boxing championships is declining. Mahlangu said this tournament is part of plennary program for next year to have more boxers from Sedibeng who will participate in the Gauteng and National Boxing Championships.
“It is a concern for me because we don’t have boxers who represent us at the national championships like before. This tournament will help us to see how far we are as the Sedibeng boxing clubs, especially our boxers. We must take this initiative to the clubs to get more talented boxers and prepare them for the future. We invite all the boxing clubs in Sedibeng to be part of this initiative to discover more boxers who will represent us at the championships. Sedibeng was well respected by other regions and provinces when it came to boxing and we used to dominate the South African boxing scene from generation to generation,” he concluded.
