ORANGE FARM. – Stakeholders including Home Affairs , Public Order Policing, SAPS K9, SAPS Sedibeng Cluster Task Team and Orange Farm SAPS patrollers worked tirelessly to restore law and order in the area.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Maria Letsele says, “The team started with a roadblock on the Golden Highway. A total of 115 vehicles were searched and a further 327 persons were searched.Over 10 vehicles were checked for possible stolen vehicles.
“The Operation was later moved to different Sectors of Orange Farm where a high density operation was carried out.
“A total of 15 suspectd were arrested for crimes ranging from dealing in dagga, selling liquor without a license, undocumented person’s and drunk and driving.”
Letsele tucks shops, filling stations, liquor outlets, illegal shebeens, second hand goods outlets, ATM’s, and railway stations were visited.
“Police further seized a knife, counterfeit cigarettes, a gambling machine, liquor and dagga.”
In another event, Letsele reports that Sedibeng District SAPS held a parade for Operation Okae Molao at Palm Springs mall on Saturday evening.
“The operation started with the roadblock afterwhich a high density operation was conducted in Orange Farm,” Letsele concludes.
