Taxi and bakkie collide injures six, Vanderbijlpark

Six people have been left injured this morning after a taxi t-boned a bakkie at the R553 and R57 Road intersection in Vanderbijlpark.

Six people have been left injured this morning after a taxi t-boned a bakkie at the R553 and R57 Road intersection in Vanderbijlpark.

ER24 paramedics, along with provincial services, arrived on scene and found the bakkie on the side of the road. The taxi had come to rest in the veld some distance away from the road.

On inspection, paramedics discovered that five occupants from the taxi and the driver of the bakkie had been injured in the collision. Assessments showed that all the injuries sustained ranged from minor to moderate.

Paramedics treated the patients for their injuries and transported them to nearby provincial hospitals for further treatment.

It is believed that the taxi t-boned the bakkie after the taxi driver failed to notice the stop sign.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
