Two more charred bodies found at another cemetery!

REITFONTEIN – TWO charred-bodies of men around 17 and 19-year-old were found at Phomolong cemetery on Tuesday.

Residents of the small farmstead on the other side of the N1 adjacent to Orange Farms were woken up by screams in the early hours of the morning when the duo was allegedly being dragged, beaten, killed and necklaced with a burning tyre.

A man in his 50s who refused to be named fearing for his life told the paper that he saw car break lights in the cemetery following the screaming marathon.

Two school shoes and a belt were found on the scene where a tyre rapping the duo was still showing smokes when arrived for investigations.

“I was sleeping when I heard screams of people from the cemetery 100 meters away from my house. I went outside to see what was happening were the screaming came from. I saw a car leaving. Funny enough I didn’t see any flames of a burning tyre,” he said.

When the old man woke up and went to the scene, he found a tyre.

“I don’t know what was done by these young people, but they do not deserve to die like this. It looks like they were young men especially because there are two school shoes next to them,” he said.

Radikeledi Letoma told the paper that he was visiting his mother’s grave when he bumped into the two deceased.

“I was busy praying as I visited my mother’s grave. Two women called me to see what they discovered in the early hours. I saw two dead bodies burnt to ashes. It’s a sad thing to witness such gruesome murders,” he said.

Police spokeswoman Constable Thulisile Msibi said a double murder docket has been opened and police investigations are underway.

“We received a complaint of two bodies burnt beyond recognition at the Reitfontien cemetery in Poortjie. We are investigating two cases of murder and investigations are underway,” she said.

Msibi appealed with families with missing people to visit Orange Farm copshop.

Recently, another body of a man was found on the Golden Highway burnt to ashes near Evaton cemetery.

Days following the discovering on the Golden Highway, another man was found burnt and charred inside a car in Evaton Cemetery.
