Mkhabela suspects sabotage in Play-offs saga

SAFA Sedibeng President, Solly Mkhabela suspects sabotage resulted in this region being withdrawn from participating in the Provincial Play-offs.

SEDIBENG.- Speaking to Metro FM Sports Show recently, Mkhabela said that he suspects that sabotage from the Safa Sedibeng League Coordinator lead to the region being found guilty after failing to comply with SAFA’s rules which resulted in the Sedibeng SAB League being declared null and void.

Mkhabela told Metro FM listeners that he suspects this because this was the period where SAFA Sedibeng prepared for the elections. However, he was under scrutiny when the host told him that he, Mkhabela, must be held responsible for what happened as the head of the organisation.
As if this is not enough, Mkhabela said heads are going to roll but again, the show host said if heads should roll, his, Mokhabela’s head should be the one to roll first. To make it worse, Mkhabela’s phone line cut shortly before the end of the interview and attempts to bring him back on air were unsuccessful. Many were of the opinion that Mkhabela ran away to avoid answering some questions.

The callers were disappointed with Mokhabela’s leadership which resulted in the Arbitration’s outcome to declare SAFA Sedibeng SAB League null and void. To date, Real Hearts FC were the overall winners to represent Sedibeng at the Provincial Play-offs, however, they were told that their players were not registered under My SAFA. With the situation standing, VUT FC had to replace Real Hearts FC because their players were registered under My SAFA. However, Real Hearts challenged this decision, and the matter was referred to Arbitration. Arbitration declared the SAFA Sedibeng SAB League null and void and ordered Safa Sedibeng to pay the legal expenses. To add more salt to the wounds, on SAFA Sedibeng, Real Hearts chairman demands that his team be given a chance to participate in the Play-offs or be refunded their expenses.

He told Metro FM Sports Show that his team has already spent almost R200 000, including legal expenses.
