MEYERTON. – The Orange Farm policing precinct is known as one of the hotspots for crimes related to GBV.

Police spokesperson Constable Tlaleng Moloi reports that the campaign was a build-up to the upcoming

Annual Police Music and Cultural Association (POLMUSCA) event to be hosted in the District soon.

“The purpose of this initiative was to increase the level of awareness among the general public on different forms of violence that women and children are subjected to. During the event, educational pamphlets and safety hints about the dangers of GBV were distributed.”

Provincial junior Commissioners together with Colonel Mosia handed out gifts to survivors of GBV.

Provincial junior Commissioner General Sipho Khubeka in his address stated GBV was declared as a pandemic in the country. Khubeka urged the community to report any form of abuse and break the silence.
