Master Zondo Sports Foundation Tournament was a great success

This annual Easter Tournament saw twelve junior and senior teams battling against each other to reach the finals.

SEBOKENG.- This year’s Master Zondo Sports Foundation Annual Easter Tournamentcelebrated its 13th anniversary.

This annual tournament came to an end at Sebokeng Ajax FC ground in Zone 12 over the weekend. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sports, Master Zondo hailed this year’s tournament as a great success. He told Sedibeng Ster Sports that this year they introduced an U/9 division with the main aim  of having an U/9 league in the Emfuleni Local Football Association (ELFA). Zondo said that there is a such a need for U/9 league under the football structure.

“The tournament was a great success and thanks to our partners such as Thirsty H20, asthe h Man Of The Match received gifts courtesy of them. As the Master Zondo Sports Foundation we also want to thank the Gauteng Department Of Sports and Recreation for always making sure we receive football equipment that is much needed by the club’s. All the finalists received sets of Lotto soccer kits and this will change the lives of some of these kids. For example, Royal Rangers FC which started the tournament using soccer bibs donated to them by Nale Academy fought hard to reach the final and went home with a brand new soccer kit,” said Zondo.

This annual Easter Tournament saw twelve junior and senior teams battling against each other to reach the finals. The teams that participated in the tournament were members in good standing with ELFA. This tournament consisted of five divisions namely, u/9, 11, u/13, u/15,  u/21.

Zondo who is also member of the Emfuleni Local Football Association executive committee said that the club’s must adopt u/6 and u/9 divisions.
