Promotional League games called off due to church and social commitments
Sedibeng Ster Sport has learned that one of the reasons why the Super Leagues games were called off is due to the number of the tournaments that will be taking place in Emfuleni.
SEDIBENG.- The Emfuleni Local Football Association (ELFA) once again postponed the Super League matches, this time for the Easter long weekend.
The association said the reason to call off this weekend games followed the teams’ request due to church and other social engagements they find themselves in. However Sedibeng Ster Sport, has learned that one of the reasons why the Super Leagues games were called off is due to the number of the tournaments that will be taking place in Emfuleni during this long Easter weekend. There are a number of tournaments that will be taking place at various venues from Saturday until next Monday.
“Please be informed that all Promotional League games scheduled for the weekend of 15-18 April 2022 has been called off, due to high demands of requests from our teams requesting from the league to play on specific days due to church and other social engagements they find themselves in. Unanimously the ELFA executive agreed that during this long week, there will be recess for all Promotional League teams. Please note, games will resume on the weekend of the 22 April 2022,” reads the letter sent to the teams by the Competitions Committee Convener, Oupa Tladinyane.
