R135 000 paid but still no house

Sedibeng Ster contacted the house title holder Maditaba Gcantsana. The 59-year-old woman says the disappearance of the agent has left both families wanting: “I have the title of the house and I cannot allow the Mokhutle’s to take over while we have not received the full amount of the money. The agent only paid R15 000 of the money we agreed to sell the house for. Right now we are also looking for him, because he might be robbing people using our name or house,” said Gcantsana.

SHARPEVILLE. – He bought a house in Tshepiso Phase 1 in January 2015 for cash, but still has not set foot in it. Rajobere Petros Simon Mokhutle apparently paid R135 000 into the bank account of Kunene Construction and Projects, which belongs to Mphikeleli Thabiso Kunene – the agent that has since gone missing and disappearing with Mokhutle’s money. Mokhutle’s daughter Queen Mokhutle (28) marched to Sedibeng Ster  offices to seek help.

“I have been looking for the agent for months. I went to the two different locations where they were supposed to be, but there was no sign of them. Their telephone numbers do not work now. We cannot move into the house because the agent has not paid the house title-holder. Now we are left with proof of payment, but without the house,” said the tearful Queen. She blames herself for the situation because it was she who advised her father to buy the house through an agent.

She further stated that she is willing to help the Mokhutle’s with the situation so they can get their balance of the house. A voice message was repeatedly left on Kunene’s cell number without any reply. It is clear that Kunene has moved offices as both families are looking for him.

At time of going to print Sedibeng Ster was in possession of payment documents that proves Mokhutle’s dispute. Mokhutle has laid a charge of fraud with the Vanderbijlpark Police.
