Two Touch FC and Shooting Stars FC are Gushadee Tournament champions

BOPHELONG.- Two Touch FC and Shooting Stars FC were crowned Gushadee U/15 and U/17 Tournament Champions respectively.

This well attended development soccer tournament came to an end at Powerline dusty soccer ground in Muvhango, Bophelong over the weekend. It was great advert of development football with the day’s program starting with the semi-finals for both u/15 and u/17 and later in the afternoon it was the finals. 

The venue was packed to capacity with Bophelong and Muvhango community especially parents coming in big numbers to support their children. Shooting Stars FC from Sasolburg were crowned the u/15 champions after they beat Two Touch FC 4-3 on penalties. This exciting final was decided on penalty shootout after goalless draw in full time while Two Touch FC U/17 crowned the champions in this division. This was after they beat Vaal.Com FC 2-0 in the last final of the day. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport after the finals, tournament sponsor and businesswoman,Mantombi Gusha hailed the tournament as a success. Her company Gushadee sponsored this tournament to plough back to the community. “I’m very happy but at the same time very emotional to see teams losing and how those youngsters take the defeat. But at the end of the day everyone was a winner, and the tournament was not about winning, but having fun.  I want to thank people who made this tournament a success especially those who were responsible for day to day of the running of the tournament. They have done an outstanding job until the last day of the tournament,” she said. The finalist received a soccer kit with the winners’ received medals and soccer balls among other prizes. There were also individual prizes for the Player Of The Tournament for both the u/15 and u/17 at the end of the tournament.
