Restoring the dignity of the Vaal

VANDERBIJLPARK. – Intending to improve the image of the city, the Executive Mayor of Emfuleni Municipality (ELM), Sipho Radebe and his MMC for Environmental and Planning, Jones Radebe as well as other officials launched the “Friday cleanup campaigns” recently. The launch started near the Vanderbijlpark Library and behind the taxi rank. Under the theme “Restoring the beauty of Emfuleni,” the campaign activities have seen even employees taking part to improve the area’s image. Steven Monyatsi, Manager for Waste and Landfill said that within this three days they want to do away with hobos sleeping all over and near the taxi rank. Mayor Radebe ensured that they start outside the municipality as a key point for community as they come to pay for services.
