SEDIBENG.- African Cup Of Nation (AFCON) defending champions, Algeria failed to make it to the knockout stages.
This was after Ivory Coast send them packing when they beat them 4-1 on Thursday. Who could have thought that Algeria would be out of the tournament at this stage of the tournament taking into consideration that they are defending champions? In fact, no one saw it coming especially at this stage of the tournament. Despite the embarrassing score, it was a great advert of African football with both countries playing fast flowing football. Great goals were scored on the night much to the appreciatiation of the fans.
Cameroon, Nigeria and Ivory Coast are red hot favorites to be crowned the tournament champions if their current performance is anything to go by. Meanwhile, Ghana were also eliminated from the tournament after they finished at the bottom of their group.
