Business robbery suspects arrested
The members gave chase and managed to arrest the 18-year-old female suspect who led the Police to her accomplices.
VANDERBIJLPARK.- The Vanderbijlpark Sector members and the Vanderbijlpark Task Team members yielded good results when responding to a Business Robbery in Bophelong Ext.6 recently.
Three (3) suspects were arrested in the early hours of Wednesday, 2022-01-19 at about 02:30. An 18-year-old female suspect, 21 year and a 26-year-old suspects were arrested. Police Spokespearson Srgeant Gertrude Makhale said that police received a complaint of a Business Robbery in progress, rushed to the scene of crime and on arrival the suspects were fleeing the scene.
“The members gave chase and managed to arrest the 18-year-old female suspect who led them to her accomplices. On further investigation by the Vanderbijlpark Task Team members they manage to trace two suspects and arrest them. It is alleged that during the arrest, the suspect took the Police to the 2nd scene where a victim, alleged to be their accomplice in the Business Robbery, was found laying in a pool of blood with stab wounds, he was later declared dead by the paramedics.”
It is alleged that the suspect entered the tuckshop when the victims were busy watching a movie on their cell phone. The suspects managed to break a hole through the wall using concrete lintel. The suspects threatened the victims with a firearm and robbed the tuckshop of cash, cigarettes, groceries, airtime machine and a cell phone.
The suspects were arrested for the Business Robbery and Murder charges.
