“We can’t afford to buy the books”: Seeiso parents

The Principal also arrived only to be met with parents chanting songs outside school.

BOPHELONG.- The parents of some of the children attending school at Seeiso Primary School have said that they are dissappointed to learn that Grade 3,4 and 5 peoples would have to buy their own books

Speaking outside the school gate, parents said that they cant afford to buy the books.They accused both the School Governing Body (SGB) and the Principal for failing to up date them.

When they wanted to meet with the Executive Committee of the SGB, its Treasure attempted to engage with them, however, she was chased away and showed a middle finger. The Principal also arrived only to be met with parents chanting songs outside school.
A Head of Department and Educator known only as Ms Shebe attended the parents and said that the books the school bought last year were too expensive.

While addressing parents another official from the Sedibeng District of Education, known as Kirsha Bangalu arrived and pulled Shebe out of the meeting, back inside the school. Apparently Shebe was accused for addressing parents in front of the media.

“This is non paying school,” the parents said.
