Police are investigating alleged mob justice killings in De Deur.
This comes after two men were killed in Tsepong new developing area, De Deur, on Tuesday evening.
Police spokesperson Shaan Motsapi said: “The police were called to attend a double murder crime scene at a Blue Container Tuck- Shop owned by foreign nationals.
Upon arrival, it is alleged that the owner of the Blue container Tuck- Shop was inside the container busy operating the shop.
Two unknown males knocked at the door and forced themselves inside the container. The shop keeper was then stabbed on the head with a knife by one of the suspects.”
“They robbed him airtime and cash. He then screamed for help. Community members around the neighbourhood came in numbers, rushing to assist him.
The two unknown males closed the container tuck – shop from inside. Community members cut the steel door open and gain entrance to help the shopkeeper.
The two unknown suspects were then assaulted with various objects, pulled to outside the container tuck shop and set alight with different material. They died at the scene of crime.”
The police are investigating cases of attempted business robbery and double murder.
The identity of the two suspects are unknown at this stage and no arrests have been made.
The Shopkeeper was taken to hospital for medical attention and observation.
