Vaal Industrial League season comes to an end

“We played under difficult circumstances, but we managed."

VANDERBIJLPARK.- Arcelor Mittal SA (AMSA) FC were crowned the Vaal Industrial League Champions after finishing at the top of the log standing with 18 points recently.

AMSA FC was a better team this season with some exciting players.

JB Trading FC finished second on the log while GP Auto FC finished third and Nampak FC finished fourth on the log.

Bonke Bonke Construction FC finished fifth while CW1 finished the season sixth on the log and VUT FC and Team X FC finished seven and eight positions respectively.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, the Vaal Industrial League Coordinator, Pete Gololo said they decided to play only one round due to uncertainty and inconveniences caused by COVID-19.

“We played under difficult circumstances, but we managed. We agreed to play only first round of the league because we were not sure if the fourth wave of COVID-19 would come. But I must say it was a very exciting but short season and we hope next season we will play first and second round. I want to take this opportunity to congratulate the winners Arcelor Mittal FC for being the league champions for 2021 season. I would also want to take this opportunity to thank all the companies that form part of this league and made it a success. We are looking forward to the next season and hope to attract more companies to join the league,” said Gololo.
