TV weekly must watch

We’ve rounded up three great series you should keep an eye out for this week.

Start with a crime drama about an enigmatic woman with a mysterious background, uses her extensive skills to help those with nowhere else to turn. Then get ready for the return of a sci-fi apocalyptic thriller that follows survivors on an overnight flight to Brussels who desperately try to outrun a radiation anomaly from the sun that is causing a global disaster. Or watch a comedy-drama about a legendary Vegas comedian who is in danger of losing her residency.

Robyn McCall comes across to most like an average single mom who is quietly raising her teenage daughter. But to a trusted few, she is ‘The Equalizer’ – an anonymous guardian angel and defender of the downtrodden, who’s also dogged in her pursuit of personal redemption. Season 1 is now available on Showmax.

Into the Night follows a group of survivors on board a plane as they desperately travel west to avoid the sun. The second season will see the group continuing their quest to survive and finding a solution to the problem. After a fire incident that diminished the bunker’s food supply, the group will be forced to fly to Norway to load up some supplies and raise against time again to get back to safety. The survivors must also face a brewing conflict in the bunker. Check out the trailer at the bottom of this article to find out more. Coming this Wednesday to Netflix.

Deborah Vance is a legendary Las Vegas stand-up comedy diva trying to maintain relevance as the head of the casino where she performs tries to pare down on her performance dates. Ava is a Gen Z comedy writer who is unable to find work due to being ‘cancelled’ over an insensitive tweet. The two reluctantly team up to freshen up Vance’s material and learn to respect each other’s differences. Watch Hacks on Fridays, 10:30pm on M-Net, DStv channel 101. *Contains strong language in the trailer.
