Wasted clean water flows the streets of Steel Park

Residents said the burst pipe was reported to the Emfuleni Local Municipality MMC for Infrastructure, Bhekie Ntsele.

VEREENIGING. – The concerned residents of Phosphor Road and Vanadium Streets in Steel Park, Vereeniging say that they have been without water for the last four days. This after their water supply has been cut off due to the poor pressure from a burst pipe. Now thousands of liters of water is flowing into the drain system. The residents  told Sedibeng Ster that the pressure could not push the water into certain taps as some of the houses are in a high density area. Those who could still be able to access water, said that they are starting to ‘feel the pain’ as the water pressure from their taps starts to collapse. At the time Sedibeng Ster arrived on 5 September, some of the community fetched water from other neighbours’ yards. Those who managed to fetch the water from the burst pipe, said they use it to bath and wash clothes. “Together with my family we have resorted to buy purified water at the shops,” said one of the residents. Residents said the burst pipe was reported to the Emfuleni Local Municipality MMC for Infrastructure, Bhekie Ntsele.
