VANDERBIJLPARK.- Emfuleni Local Football Association (ELFA Chairman, Jabu Mgcina has said that he is impressed with the standard of the Super League. Mgcina made a surprise visiting to three venues where gamemes were held recently namely Evaton Stream, Sebokeng and Vanderbijlpark Stream. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Mgcina said he will be also visiting others stream including the junior league. “I went to three venues, and I was very impressed with what I saw on and off the field. I must say the standard of football in Super League is very high with all the teams looking very competitive. I was also impressed with the age limits with most of the teams playing with young players. The teams also look very organised on the bench and there was discipline among the players,” said Mgicina. Star Hlongwane, from Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM) Sports Department also made a surprise visit at the Shakespeare Stadium in Vanderbijlpark recently. For the past two weekends Hlongwane has visited all the municipality venues to check if the teams that use municipality facilities do comply. However, Mongcina told Sedibeng Ster Sport as much as he was impressed with match officiating, he believed there is a need for young blood in match officiating. He said he will propose this at their next executive meeting to look into this matter to recruit young referees from the age of 13. He said in the past Sedibeng used to produce PSL referees and he will love to see this happen again. Meanwhile, Super League has become more interesting with three top teams on a tie with 22 points from 11 games. As things stand Nale Football Academy is topping the stream with goal difference with Waya Waya FC second on the log while Atlentico FC is third on the log. This is one of the most exciting seasons with the Promotion League divided into four streams namely, Boitshepiville, Vanderbijlpark, Evaton and Sebokeng Stream. Mighty Killers FC is at the summit of the Boitshepiville Stream, while Morning Stars FC is leading Evaton Stream, Sebokeng Ajax FC is at the top of the Sebokeng Stream.
