Police educate community on crime

The members started the day by visiting schools.

BARRAGE.- The SAPS Sedibeng District Social Crime Prevention Coordinators recently embarked on a program to educate community members, farmers and the business sector on crime in the Barrage area.

The members started the day by visiting schools. The awareness campaign proceeded to the Barrage Auctions where livestock farmers were informed about the importance of branding their stock.

“The visit to the school was a great success as children were taught about topics such as: human trafficking, abstaining from swimming in dams to avoid drowning, domestic violence, bullying, as well as to abstain from substance and drug abuse.

The importance of wearing face masks was also emphasized to avoid the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic,” police said.
