Police confiscate liquor during weekend operations in Sebokeng

During the operation, police also seized liquor from operators who failed to adhere to the disaster management act, which prohibits the sale of alcohol during adjusted Lock-down level 3.

SEBOKENG. – Police managed to arrest a total of 43 suspects  for various crimes such as drunk and driving, possession of drugs, drinking in public, damage to essential infrastructure and selling liquor without a licence. The arrests were carried out during an operation led by Sedibeng District Commissioner General Zodwa Molefe on Saturday.

Police seized liquor in Sebokeng after traders failed to adhere to the lock down regulations which prohibits the sale of alcohol.

During the operation, police also seized liquor from operators who failed to adhere to the disaster management act, which prohibits the sale of alcohol during adjusted Lock-down level 3. Police spokesperson Tshegofatso Maliehe says, “Police  managed to confiscate liquor, copper cables, a knife and plastic chairs during the operation” All the arrested people will appear in court soon.
