VANDERBIJLPARK. – The double thread which includes Amelia Ramadie and Simthembile Mahlasela are best known for their charitable activities which they carry out throughout the year, whenever the need arises.
Whether it is organising uniforms or groceries to feed the hungry, there is nothing that the two cannot accomplish.
The duo recently lived up to their reputation when they threw a Christmas party for the children of Unity Children’s Home in Bonani. They also brought groceries and gifts for the children. The day included singing and dancing by some of the older children residing at the home.
Ramadie states that she and Mahlasela have a mutual goal, which is to help uplift the community. “We are in the process of forming an organisation as helping the community is our passion. The reason we chose to throw a Christmas party for this particular children’s home is because we are proud of the woman behind it. She gives a lot of love to the children living at the home and she deserves the recognition.”
Mimi Marumo, who is the founder of the children’s home is delighted that there are people who remembered that they also need a proper Christmas celebration.
“I am really thankful for the good Samaritans who threw a wonderful celebration for us. I hope that God blesses them and gives them the ability to do more for the community.”
