If getting lost in potholes, or drowning in sewer is not bad enough, residents are being subjected to continued power failures in Wards 16 and 45 and have taken to the streets to get feedback from the Emfuleni Local Municipality.
During the previous power failure which lasted 7 days, the municipality has only once issued one formal communication to residents. If it was not for the councilors following up with managers and officials, residents would not have any information on what is happening.
This is exactly the type of behavior you will expect from a stepparent who does not care for the well-being of his or her extended family. Emfuleni has once again proven that they do not have the interest of residents at heart. Where the democratic Alliance governs, residents are continuously informed about service disruptions through communications units and control rooms.
