Dynamite comes in small packages

"I encourage other parents to support their children and take them to the places of their interest.”

SEDIBENG.- The ACT Program has discovered a young chess dynamite player by the name of Bothlale Mochologi, a 7 year from Sharpeville.
Mochologi’s mother saw the first article in Sedibeng Ster about the ACT Program, a Chess program being held in Bedworthpark, Vereeniging which she dismissed, but seeing the second article, she jumped up as a responsible parent and sent her son to the ACT Program of Chess at the Diniso Arts Complex.
Obert Gaza, the grandmaster of chess who is the coaches the ACT Program said, “I am very much happy to coach and impart the chess skills to these young people.” On discovering the young talent Gaza said, “I have played just two times with this young chess enthusiast and I saw his skills, especially his bravery of moving his pieces when attacking. He just needs thorough polishing and we will, in no time, have a youngster that could give a tough chess contest to his peers and chess masters in the Vaal area.”

The mother of the chess dynamo, Christinah Mochologi said that she used to play chess at home with her son since she bought him his first chessboard. “Bothlale has shown interest to play chess from the age of four and that is why I became compelled to buy him the chessboard. When playing with him, he checkmated me every time because I have no knowledge of playing the game, but just playing with him to encourage him. I truly from the bottom of my heart would like to thank ACT Program and Sedibeng Ster because now my son has a home of chess and I am grateful especially in these times of lockdown because of COVID-19 pandemic regulations. I encourage other parents to support their children and take them to the places of their interest.”
The ACT Program’s challenge is the lack of masks, sanitizers, surgical gloves and light snacks for the young chess enthusiastic attending the chess games, which takes place over the weekends. The number is growing and therefore a request is sent out to any good Samaritans to donate at least 20 chessboards.
To donate contact IGamakhulu Diniso at 084 282 9160. Parents who like to bring their children can contact Solomon Tshabangu at 066 356 3019, and chess players who like to have more knowledge about the game can phone Obert Gaza at 067 781 0811.
