MIDVAAL. – Motsamai said that many of the people claimed to have paid between between R10 000 to R25 000 for a house and there after given subsidy forms to cover up, including a letter with a Midvaal letterhead signed by a person not employed by MLM. Motsmai added that a name of a Gauteng Department of Human Settlements (GDHS) official currently in retirement was also used on the form.
“We have opened a criminal case with the Police and I will be taking up the matter with the MEC at our next meeting. We will soon provide further updates on the cases and other steps taken to deal with this and ensure that Savanna City Houses are allocated to the rightful beneficiaries.
