Bophelong residents demand electricity

BOPHELONG. – Bophelong residents this week reacted, by blockading roads, to what they said was the failure of Emfuleni Local Municipality Mayor, Gift Moerane to produce the transformers that would have seen them receive electricity over the weekend as promised. Moerane is said to have made this promise when he met the community during a protest last week. Some of the residents have been without electricity for four weeks.

The police were even there to control the angry mob, to no avail.
