The lockdown was implemented with the Super League teams having played two games in its second round due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
As a result of this Emfuleni Local Football Association (ELFA) has joined many other association who had to suspend its programmes to ensure that every role player in football is safe.
Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Mgcina said that the league was scheduled to end mid May 2020 but will be extended to June.
He said that ELFA is intending to convey a General Council Meeting with all its affiliated members to map a way forward.
Mgcina also revealed to Sedibeng Ster Sport that for obvious technical reasons they will consider granting teams a pre-season preparation period.
“My humble message to the Emfuleni football fraternity and community at large is that, please be safe at all times and wash your hands regularly, wear your face mask and stay at home to ensure that we reduce the spread of this pandemic. Remember nobody can go back and start a new beginning but anyone can start today and make a new ending,” he concluded.
