The community members lined up to check their health status at a temporary testing station set up near Stephenson Spar in CW 5.  Sedibeng District Health’s Acting Director of Clinical Services, Vusi Mbelu said that everything went well.

“We were highly impressed by the turn-out of the residents. The reason we conducted a door to door campaign was to abide by the recommendation made by the state president.”

However, he said many people did not want to test but that through the assistance of various nonprofit organizations, they managed to win the hearts of some. “We have 11 testing stations in the region and we test people for free. The campaign started last week in Bophelong.”

Mbelu thanked Sister Indroma Singh, who patiently tested community members and members of the law enforcement from Emfuleni Local Municipality as well as the police.
