Buwa-Buka club hosts reading and poetry recital event

VEREENIGING. - In a plight to promote reading for both young and old in the Vaal, Buwa-Buka Club in conjunction with Black- Power Poetry and Kasi-FM Live, will be hosting a two month long book reading and poetry recital event.

The event started on January 24 and goes on until March 28, in Bedworthpark at the Art-Port Kofi in Hector Street. Buwa-Buka club was founded in 2004. This year, the club celebrates its 16th Anniversary. Buwa-Buka Club will be reading Professor Aubrey Mokadi’s book titled “There is nothing wrong with education but there is something wrong with educated people.”
Gamakhulu Diniso says, “Book worms, established and emerging writers are all invited to turn 2020 to a year of reading.”
Diniso said that Mokadi’s book provides insight into events taking place in the Vaal, which might spark interest in political, social, educational, historical and cultural issues. As part of the celebration, Kasi- FM Live will be interviewing people about the Vaal and the interviews will be archived. The Black Power Poetry session is preparation towards ‘Kasi Poetry Feast’ in March 28, 2020.
“Vaal poets and authors are called to read their own manuscripts or recite their poems towards presenting and producing their poetry show at @IVA-Home Theatre.”
