Smax brings confidence to young girls

Moeketsi said that she is passionate about the project and that she initiated it as a finalist of the Miss Gauteng Plus Size pageant but mentions that it will continue beyond the pageant.

VANDERBIJLPARK.- Semakaleng ‘Smax’ Moeketsi, a finalist for Miss Gauteng Plus Size pageant recently distributed panties, bras and sanitary towels to young girls at Ramosukula Secondary School, in Barrage near Vanderbijlpark on Friday morning.

Moeketsi is a mother of two girls who describes herself as a social activist who understands the struggle of children not having appropriate undergarments and says that this always affects young women. She says that if the society wants girls to have ‘self-love’ and confidence, it needs to help them by donating anything that will boost their moral.

Moeketsi said that she is passionate about the project and that she initiated it as a finalist of the Miss Gauteng Plus Size pageant but mentions that it will continue beyond the pageant. On Friday she was accompanied by local artists, Masedi, Gento Bateto, Madesh, Vaal Nation and Starpora who motivated young people at the school.

“This initiative was also supported by the Barrage SAPS and I am thankful for the sponsorship that I got from Signature Cosmetic in Vaal Mall, they gave goodies to the beneficiaries. I am also grateful to the people that donated the panties and bras.”

The finals for theMiss Gauteng Plus Size pageant will be held on the 28 March at the Soweto Theatre and those who would like to support Moeketsi should contact her on 082 8913 601.
