FC RESA at rock bottom while Lions FC enjoy the ride

SEDIBENG.- As things stand it seems as if the ABC Motsepe League Club FC RESA, formerly Vaal Professionals, will be relegated to the lower division at the end of the 2019/2020 season.

FC RESA finds themselves at the bottom of the Gauteng ABC Motsepe League log with five points from eleven games that they have played so far this season. To make thing worse, FC RESA suffered their eighth defeat when Mamelodi Tigers FC beat them 4-2 in the ABC Motsepe League match over the weekend.
This President Park, Vereeniging based club has registered only one win and two draws after 11 games, conceding 29 goals which is the worst record in the ABC Motsepe League to date. However, there is hope that the home team will turn the table around, taking into consideration that it is still early days to start pressing panic buttons. Sedibeng Ster Sport was informed at the beginning of the season that FC RESA has bought the Vaal Professional ABC Motsepe League status. For the past two seasons Vaal Pros FC seems to be struggling after a great start in their first campaign in the ABC Motsepe League. This was during the time they were coached by the former Vaal Professional and Giant Blackpool legend, Geelbooi “Goma- Goma” Masango. Under his leadership Vaal Pros was exciting to watch, played mouth-watering football and delighted their home fans.
Meanwhile, newly promoted Blue Lions FC seems to be to be hanging up there, at seventh on the table with 16 points from eleven games.
The club’s fortunes turned after they appointed former Bafana Bafana coach, Ephraim “Shakes” Mashaba.
Mashaba has since turned things around with Blue Lions starting to make their presence felt in the ABC Motsepe League.
Mashaba said Blue Lions FC has potential to cause an upset in the ABC Motsepe League if the players believe in themselves.
“I have no doubt that these youngsters have what it takes to make their presence felt in the league as long as they work hard at training.
The future looks great for some of them but there is a long way to go,” said Mashaba.
