Locals spend on Black Friday deals

Joining millions South African’s eager to burn through their money in the hope of scoring a deal, Vaal mall customers showed up in large scores. And any deal will do.

Tighter security measures were in place as there was large security presence in the mall.

One shopper told Vaalweekblad that was at Vaal mall since 6am.

“I am not going to buy clothes or anything. I am looking at buying a flat screen, that is what I have budgeted for.”

Another shopper said she got good deals at Game stores. “I got a Russell Hobbs iron for R180, a kettle for less than R200, these are good deals.”

In Vaal Gate, shoppers have also showed up at stores in their numbers.

A shopper at Vaal Gate Usave said she was mostly interested in getting deals of nappies,

“I came here for nappies, I even bought some for my sister who couldn’t be here today because of work.”
