SEDIBENG.- Having been in the music industry since 1974 and releasing a hot album is nothing new to Lusanda Mcinga.
Porpularly known only as ‘Lusanda and the Spiritual Group’ on her albums, the latest album she has released compromises of 16 songs and is called “Mabaphil’ abantu”. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster the veteran gospel artist says that this latest album was released with her fans from all over the country in mind.
Lusanda recently performed in De Deur.
“I always release my albums with my fans in mind and this album is no different. It is all about the space that I am in at the time.”
‘Mabaphil’abantu’, which she worked on with her son, Bethusile – who is also a gospel artist, was released under her stable Lusanda Music Production. In the album, Lusanda says that her fans must particularly look out for the track called ‘Intsikelelo’. About the recent scourge of women and children abuse Lusanda said that the blame should not only be put on men and that not only one side of abuse should be looked at; as men are also abused but aren’t encouraged to come out as they then become the laughing stock of the community.
“We should look at this scourge both ways and not only blame men as they too are abused and sometimes falsely accused, government and other concerned organisation should also provide protection for men.”
About the album she said, “I would like to encourage my fans in the Vaal to go out and buy this latest album as they will not be disappointed. I have never let them down and I am not about to begin now.”
Lusanda and the Spiritual Choir are available for performances at parties, weddings, festivals, unveilings and funerals at request.
