Biker critical after collision with taxi

VANDERBIJLPARK.- A 36-year-old man was left critically injured this morning when his motorbike crashed into the side of a taxi on Westinghouse Boulevard in Vanderbijlpark.
ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene at 07h00 to find both the taxi and the motorbike in the middle of the road. The driver was found lying next to his motorbike.
Medics assessed the biker and found that he had sustained serious injuries to his head, neck and chest, leaving him in him in a critical condition.
Medics treated the man and provided him with several advanced life support interventions. Once treated, the man was transported to Mediclinic Emfuleni for urgent treatment.
The driver of the taxi fortunately escaped injury.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
