In an announcement made late yesterday Eskom said that there is no load shedding planned for Sunday when the Springboks take on Japan in the quarter-final of the Rugby World Cup. The national power utility also said that the power system remains constrained, and load shedding may be implemented at short notice.
“No load shedding is planned for tomorrow, 20 October 2019, however the system remains constrained and volatile and load shedding could be implemented at short notice should there be a significant shift in plant performance and increased unplanned technical breakdowns,” Eskom said in a statement.
