Young mother seriously injured in collision

Toddler (5) fortunately escaped injury

 
VEREENIGING. – A 28-year-old woman suffered multiple injuries when a light motor vehicle collided with hers at the Blackwood and Ring Road intersection in the Three Rivers suburb of Vereeninging late this afternoon (April 17, 019)

According to Ross Campbell, a spokesperson for ER24, paramedics of this emergency service arrived on the scene just after 5 pm today to find the woman still in her vehicle. Her 5-year-old child, who had been strapped in the passenger seat, luckily escaped injury and had been removed from the vehicle by a family member.

The woman was treated with Advanced Life Support interventions and taken to Vereeniging-Kopanong Hospital for further care. The driver of the other vehicle involved was assessed but declined treatment and transportation to hospital.

The Fire and Traffic departments were on scene for further investigation.
