Border Frontier founder wins award for Best Business Concept

Lungiswa Mzimba won the award for the Best Presentation Concept in the 2018 NWU Vaal Enterprising Women Programme.

VANDERBIJLPARK – The founder and brand consultant at Border Frontier, Lungiswa Mzimba, whose passion points are branding, communication and sustainability, was recently awarded the Best Presentation Concept in the 2018 Vaal Enterprising Women Programme.

The prestigious awards ceremony was recently held at Emerald Resort & Casino.

“The award is a wonderful recognition. Professionally, it adds credibility to Border Frontier and enhances the value proposition of my brand,” said Mzimba, who now provides brand advisory services with the aim of helping brands re-imagine sustainability.

The Enterprising Women Programme is an eight month programme, presented at the North West University in Vanderbjilpark, geared to provide business support services to women who wish to establish their own businesses.

Participants are taken through an in-depth program to explore ideas, develop a business model and putting the wheels in motion to initiate the business. They also become part of a peer network of women embarking on an entrepreneurial journey, where they can share experiences and learn from one another and other successful female entrepreneurs by being exposed to structured learning through workshops and group-centred learning.

“It gave me the opportunity to make connections in the industry and expand my network,” said Mzimba.

Her award is associated with a number of sponsorship prizes which will assist her in further developing her business. The prizes include: Financial Mentoring Sponsorship, Marketing Material from the Small Enterprise Development Agency (SEDA) and Promotional sponsorship among others.

As a next step, the start-up entrepreneur from Sebokeng will have the opportunity to join the bhive Enterprise Development Centre’s Incubation Programme to embark on the next phase of operationalising the business and developing it to full commercial potential.
