Plus-size models content in their own skin

Nine different plus size-models shared the stage and wrestled for the crown to be named the MVP 2018. Founder and organiser of the event Faith Mokhema said she is thrilled by the support and that the competition is growing every year.

SEBOKENG. – The Miss Vaal Plus Size Competition rose to expectations on Saturday at the Saul Tsotetsi Sporting Complex in Sebokeng. The hall was packed to capacity with lovers of modelling, especially of plus-size models.

Nine different plus size-models shared the stage and wrestled for the crown to be named the MVP 2018. Founder and organiser of the event Faith Mokhema said she is thrilled by the support and that the competition is growing every year.

These young women who competed were Felicia Maseko, Thandiwe Magubane, Palesa Makhene, Mpho Khasebe, Elizabeth Grevol, Naledi Mokati, Keitumetse Poonyane and Pulane Mofokeng. The moment of truth came and the top three were announced after three categories of competition swimwear, casual and main dress. Felicia Maseko took the MVP 2018 and was crowned Queen.

Thandiwe Magubane was the first princess and Palesa Makhene was second princess. The queen walks away with automatic entry to Ms Curvy Body SA, a portfolio shoot, a clothing voucher, a magazine feature, Mofaya Goodies, a modelling contract, and a gym membership. While the first princess and the second princess will walk away with Mofaya Goodies, a portfolio shoot, a gym membership and a clothing voucher.

The outgoing queen Duduzile Mabaso shared her experience to be 2017 MVP Queen and asked fully figured women to consider entering for the event next year and ‘be free in their own skin’.
