MEYERTON. – For the first time ever in the Vaal, Midvaal Raceway and MooiVaal Media present the Beat me if you can time attack challenge!

On Saturday, September 29, petrol heads of all ages will flock to the Midvaal Raceway in Meyerton to race against the clock. Drivers take their cars onto the track and compete for the best time and the winners will walk away with trophies. Times are compared to other drivers in the same class. Due to popular demand motorbikes will also be allowed to participate.

The precise distance of the five corner track is 750m. MooiVaal Media and EV Dynamics tested the track last week.

In the racing car and the road car, the pro driver completed the course in 32s and 36s respectively.

The average person should complete the lap in 40 to 45 seconds.

Registration and the first run cost R100 and thereafter R50 per run. Anybody with a safe vehicle and proper safety belts will be allowed to race after inspection. Road cars, racing cars and modified cars are welcome.

Any make or model can take part, as long as it passes the safety inspection.

Drivers must wear a helmet, long sleeve trousers and shirts.

The entrance fee for spectators is R50 per person and children under 16 are free. Despite the racing, there will also be exhibitors, food stalls and entertainment throughout the day. A mobile dyno tuning unit and car sound will be on display with lots to do for the whole family.
