Family traumatised by Palesa’s gruesome killing

Police are attempting to track down the victim’s boyfriend who is suspected of her murder. Palesa’s sister Lebogang Mokhele said, “The death of my sister has traumatised us dismally. However, the fact that no-one has been arrested for her horrible murder has torn us apart.”

SEBOKENG. – The Gauteng Social Development Mens Forum (GSDMF) marched against femicide recently.

The march was led by young and old community leaders who said, ‘enough is enough’, on the killing of women and abuse of children,

The march went straight to Sebokeng Police Station Commander, Colonel Mokoena, where a memorandum was handed over. It had started at the Saul Tsotetsi Sports Centre in Zone 14.

The marchers also wanted a speedy resolution to the Palesa Mokhele case.

Palesa Mokhele was a 24-year-old woman who was found dead in her bed in Boitumelo, Sebokeng, earlier this year.

Police are attempting to track down the victim’s boyfriend who is suspected of her murder. Palesa’s sister Lebogang Mokhele said, “The death of my sister has traumatised us dismally. However, the fact that no-one has been arrested for her horrible murder has torn us apart.”

Thimothy Manganye, Chairperson of the GSDMF, handed the memorandum to Mokoena. The investigating officer and Mokoena were given 21 days to find the suspect or suspects in Palesa’s murder. Mokoena accepted the memorandum and said he would respond to the community outcry.
