Taxi driver dies after Waterdal accident

The association once again mourned after the driver of the taxi, Thabiso Sekadi (39) from Zone 13 died at the hospital last week raising the deaths to four and 39 injured.

SEBOKENG.- The Vereeniging Taxi Association members were shocked when one of its taxis was involved in an accident on the Waterdal Road near Boiketlong in Sebokeng recently (Sedibeng Ster: Accident claims three- 2 May- 8 May 2018).

The association once again mourned after the driver of the taxi, Thabiso Sekadi (39) from Zone 13 died at the hospital last week raising the deaths to four and 39 injured. The three people who died earlier were identified as Funekile Gijana from Palm Springs, Ben Mokhele from Zone 11 and Alinah Ntsewane from Zone 20 in Sebokeng. They were laid to rest to rest on Saturday while Sekadi was laid to rest on Sunday.

Police spokesperson, Sergeant Thembeka Koago has confirmed that a culpable homicide case was opened and is being investigated. Koago added that the driver was reported dead at Sebokeng Hospital. Sekadi leaves behind his wife and two children. Taxi boss, Jabu Hlomuka confirms the passing of his driver. “It is very sad that I have lost such a young man in such a horrific accident. He was a sports person, a development cricket coach,” said Hlomuka.
