Namibian caught with grenades and uncut diamonds

The Namibian national was detained by police after he was found in possession of hand grenades and uncut diamonds.

EVATON. – A 38-year-old man was arrested by the Krugersdorp Trio Task team and Randfontein Police Detectives on Thursday morning in Evaton West.The Namibian national was detained by police after he was found in possession of hand grenades and uncut diamonds.

“Police are investigating a case of unlawful dealing and possession of dangerous weapons. The suspect has been detained and kept in police custody,” said police spokesperson Captain Aubrey Mooepeloa.

Police received a tip off about the suspect from an anonymous woman.
It is alleged that the woman was the suspect’s wife. She was in Senekal (Free State) when she informed the police about her husband’s dealings.

According to the woman, the husband (suspect) needed money for a bribe.
Moopeloa said, “Members of Krugersdorp Trio Task Team rushed to the scene in Evaton West and on searching the house found 3 hand-grenades and uncut diamonds.”

He added that the suspectwas found and arrested at the scene and detained by police at Sebokeng Police Station. He will appear at the Sebokeng Magistrates Court soon.
