Ryan Cummings, a 40-year-old physiotherapist based in Cape Town was at a juncture in life and questioning his future goals. Secretly seeking adventure and always having kept his private life under the radar, he was intrigued by the idea of doing something completely out of character, hence making the daring decision to audition for Tropika Island of Treasure Zanzibar.

With a background in fitness and physiotherapy, he saw an opportunity to blend his strength and strategic thinking on the island.

Outside of his professional achievements, Ryan is an avid adventurer who delights in exploring new cultures and destinations. He values the importance of balance in life and enjoys spending quality time with friends and family. A true animal lover with a particularly strong bond with his bulldog, Iggy, whom he describes as a “very big part of his life.”

His unique blend of professional success and personal fulfilment serves as an inspiration to many. A gentle giant with a tender heart, his participation as a contestant on the much-loved TV game show Tropika Island of treasure season 11 Zanzibar, demonstrates the power of pursuing one’s passions and freeing yourself from the clenches of self-doubt.

“I didn’t expect an ordinary person like me without a strong social media following to have been selected or shortlisted for the auditions. From there on the producers were intrigued by my story especially considering my age, which was a notable factor.” – said Ryan as he details his journey on the show.

Ryan serves as an inspiration with his successful career and fulfilling personal life, showcasing the importance of pursuing passions and living life to the fullest. As a contestant on Tropika Island of Treasure Zanzibar, he is paired with popular dancer and TikTok star Chad Jones in the race for a shared R1 Million grand prize and a Suzuki Jimny.

With his gentle demeanour and determined spirit, Ryan Cummings embodies the essence of a true champion, ready to conquer new horizons on the reality TV stage.
