“You need to go and brush your teeth,” is a phrase that most children hear every day.
The Crawford International Sandton Pre-Primary Grade 00 learners had a great experience learning more about their changing features and habits to maintain healthy, bright, and strong teeth and a balanced lifestyle.
From having toothpaste, toothbrushes, and paper that showed teeth for the experiments the little ones couldn’t get enough of the lesson.
Learners became quite interested in the teeth hygiene lesson when they attempted an egg and coke experiment and observed the effect that sugar has on teeth.
Emily Gouws, a teacher in Grade 00, said they had lots of fun during the lesson as they also learned how to brush their teeth properly to keep the plaque away.
“It was intriguing to observe the shock on the children’s faces when they realized how bad sugar is for their teeth, as well as how much effort brushing our teeth properly can be.”
