Sandton City supports their neighbouring community

Learners of the Rose-Act Saturday School, established by Rays of Hope, were all lined up with smiles as they received their stationery packs and uniforms donated by Sandton City.

Sandton’s neighbours in Alexandra are supported through the efforts of a non-profit organisation, Rays of Hope.

The organisation, in partnership with Sandton City, ran a campaign focused on the collection of stationery packs for the learners of Rose-Act Saturday School, birthed by Rays of Hope. The target of having 400 sets of stationery was achieved through the generosity of Sandton City shoppers who contributed towards the campaign with various donors.

“The value of education in setting children up for life cannot be underestimated, and we all have a role to play. It was wonderful to see the smiles on the children’s faces when they received these items, which we hope will add a layer of enthusiasm and confidence as they approach the coming school year,” said the general manager of Sandton City, Dimitri Kokinos.

Learners of the Saturday school were gifted with 400 sets of stationery donated by Bic. There were also donations of 400 drawstring bags and a selection of uniforms.
